Introducing Humic Coated Ammonium Sulfate (HCAS™)

We are proud to introduce Humic Coated Ammonium Sulfate (HCAS™), the latest innovation to join our CarbonCoat™ line of humic-coated fertility products.

CarbonCoat technology utilizes a patented manufacturing process to bond fertilizer granules with a potassium humate coating, producing HCAS granules (20-0-0-23S) that are clean, spherical, and free-flowing.

HCAS is an ideal nitrogen source for the cooler months of the spring growing season and is complementary to Humic Coated Urea (HCU®), an ideal humic-coated nitrogen source for the warmer months of the growing season.

As with HCU – another of our humic-coated fertility products – HCAS allows for reduced nitrogen application rates while maintaining equal turfgrass quality, color, and performance.

Providing nitrogen, sulfur, and humic acid, HCAS is offered in two formulations.

Large particle, spreadable granules are ideal for broadcast applications on sports turf, residential/commercial turf, and golf course rough. These granules can be applied through all types of granular spreading equipment.

Packaging
50-lb bags; 40 bags/pallet

Application Recommendations (Broadcast)
Low rate: 2.00 lbs/M  //  87 lbs/Acre
High rate: 5.00 lbs/M  //  218 lbs/Acre

Refer to label for complete application recommendations.

The smaller, soluble granules (known as HCAS SG) is ideal for foliar fertility applications in many turfgrass situations, along with ornamental and specialty applications.

These granules can be mixed and added to the spray tank using industry-standard practices such as pouring into a strainer basket, preparing a slurry mixture, or through a spray tank inductor system. This product is fully soluble in spray solutions and, unlike some competitors’ products containing humic acid, will not clog filters or nozzles.

Packaging
25-lb bags; 80 bags/pallet

Application Recommendations (Spray)
Low rate: 0.25 lbs/M  //  11 lbs/Acre
High rate: 2.50 lbs/M  //  109 lbs/Acre

Refer to label for complete application recommendations.

HCAS is compatible with most control products used in turf maintenance programs. For peak performance and to avoid compatibility issues, always add HCAS to the spray tank first (as you would with HCU), ahead of any other constituents or fertilizers. Use only chelated iron products such as Iron EDTA, HEDTA, etc. in conjunction with HCAS. A jar test is always recommended when using any new products or mixes.
